For those who have finished your undergraduate courses and would like to pursue your studies further, you can then continue to the postgraduate level. This would normally translate into Masters or doctorate courses. Today, most public universities offer postgraduate courses which are substantially cheaper than those from the private institutions. To enroll for these programmes, you would need to have a first degree in a related field and some working experience.

Most private universities also provide MBA (Masters in Business Administration) courses to help working people gain an advantage in the working environment. Universities like Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Management & Science University (MSU) have since offered postgraduate courses other than those that are normally demanded. MUST offers courses which collaborates with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) while MSU offers courses in nursing and applied sciences.
